About Me

 I am a licensed Marriage, Family Therapist and maintain a private practice in the city of Brea, California. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety disorder, trauma, grief, marital and parenting issue.

I am EMDR trained (supported by research to be very effective in treating trauma, anxiety, and other mental health disorders), which enables me to better help folks with trauma, abuse and anxiety. I also have extensive training in grief and bereavement counseling. For those who seek help in couple’s issues, I am an Attachment Theory couple’s counselor. I have given several presentations on the topic of interpersonal relationship and emotional regulation.

I am privileged to be allowed to walk into people’s life and to hold and examine their pain with them. I explore practical resolutions and transform any unhealthy patterns. I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. My clients often comment that they appreciate my calm presence, attentiveness and insight.

I have been married for 25 years and have two college kids. I have a strong conviction and faith in Christianity. I also honor and value diversity. I have a passion for cultural issues. I view myself as an agent who bridges the first and second generation of immigrants. I can speak Mandarin Chinese. People who know me well describe me as warm, understanding, wise and insightful. I enjoy reading, hiking, bird watching, and cooking for family and friends.
